Visiting a friend in 1996 I was very impressed with a British Cream male they had and decided to add a British Cat to our family of German Shepherds and a Tabby moggy. I definitely wanted something to show and embarked upon a series of research, visiting shows, listening, learning and studying pedigrees for successful families.
It soon became evident that amongst the great catteries of England there was one that stood out. I contacted Gill Howe of the renowned Coppins cattery in Yorkshire. Gill was a direct, honest and very knowledgeable lady with a first rate approach to the science of animal husbandry. In 1998 I was pleased to welcome two females from her and these were to become the foundation of the Darrway Cats.
'A brief introduction'
Since then I have shown when I can, bred kittens on occasion and met many friends in the cat world. Now a qualified GCCF steward, I am a member of many clubs and serve on the committee of the British Shorthair Cat Club.
Always striving for quality over quantity, my ethos remains true to the principles of health, temperament and breed type.
